Solution: Bar from the bank - NYT Crossword

I tend to overthink clues on Thursdays because the puzzles are tricky and wordplay is expected. [Bar from the bank?] has multiple meanings. The “bank” could be the bank of a river. The “bar” could be a drinking establishment, or even a limbo bar. (For what it’s worth, I would be a lifetime customer of a bank that made customers engage in a round of limbo as a condition for making a withdrawal: “How much are you taking out today, and how low can you go?”) In Mr. Wagner’s puzzle, however, a bar that may be stored in a bank is an INGOT.
