Solution: Force behind many disinformation campaigns - NYT Crossword

This is a debut, and it made me look up a couple of other internet terms including “flame war,” a term that made its debut in the Times crossword in 2007, which seems like forever ago (Will Nediger’s clue for it is excellent: “Result of provocative posters?”). Nobody wants an attack from a TROLL ARMY, which can be scarily huge and well-organized, and is often associated with a whole country (Russia, the Philippines, China and so on). In that sense, these troll armies bring to mind propaganda leaflets and posters; disinformation is an oft-used weapon, and hard to combat.
