This entry hasn’t been in a Times puzzle since 1996, and I knew of it only as an herb that could be a liqueur. 47A, [Big name in power ballads], solves to CELINE Dion; I think of power ballads in the context of 1980s hair bands, but the Canadian singer belts out loads of them too. These two names share a row, and I like to think there’s an Angelica Celine Smith out there somewhere, working on this grid.
