▼A really infernal little meta-misdirection, I had “culled” for “Took in” for absolutely ever today. I didn’t know my MG’s enough, and there was the 41A debacle above, and I’d say that in this case I got GULLED, i.e., duped, i.e., I was gullible. I don’t know why I didn’t make that connection before the moment I started to write this down! There probably isn’t a connection between sea gulls and getting gulled (which probably derives from gullet, and the dupe’s act of swallowing just about anything). But sea gulls are tricky!
