Solution: Sandwich originally named the Aristocrat - NYT Crossword

I thought “reuben” might be the thing here; apparently the Reuben sandwich is the namesake of a man who was extremely philanthropic, in that way earning a delectable tribute — admirable, but not titled. “The Aristocrat” was actually the first moniker of the BIG MAC. But people reportedly found aristocrat too hard to pronounce, and a secretary in the McDonald’s advertising department tossed out “Big Mac” as an option. Over 99 billion served! I did look to “Pulp Fiction” for a reference, but in Paris a Big Mac is simply “le Big Mac.”
