Oh, no, I’m not going to mess this up again. Last week I wrote about the entry “asana,” saying that it “merely means ‘pose,’ so it could be any hatha yoga pose, including but not limited to the seated ones.” In response to that commentary, I was ever-so-gently dragged by the executive editor of Yoga Journal, who said that while my intentions were good, my explanation was incomplete. She also said my use of the word “merely” may “raise some eyebrows,” although I meant it generally and not in a demeaning way.
