Solution: Musical alter ego of Donald Glover - NYT Crossword

I adore guessable spans, and other big entries that a solver can know without a single cross to help. That was the case here for me, a Donald Glover superfan, and hopefully a lot of you also felt the thrill of confidently inking in this puzzle’s Equator. Mr. Glover is an interesting celebrity; he’s a mainstream movie actor (he played a young Lando Calrissian in a Star Wars movie, for example) but he’s also an indy darling. His alter ego, CHILDISH GAMBINO, is a deep thinker (Mr. Glover supposedly got the moniker from a Wu-Tang Clan name generator that you can try out yourselves and, perhaps, use as your commenting handle). I won’t embed “This is America” because it’s quite violent but it’s riveting, dense social commentary. “Feels Like Summer” is profound as well, if you look closely.
