Solution: TV blocking device - NYT Crossword

Perhaps this clue just struck me as a cute touch on a puzzle with this theme, but I do wonder how many people these days know about the V CHIP — I almost said “remember” but it turns out the device, or at least the concept written in code, still exists on all of our TVs, intended to make it possible to censor shows with adult content. When they came out, the joke was that the only one in the household who could set the thing up would be the kid who was supposed to be limited by it; these days, most kids are over TV. Over it!
