Solution: Yoga positions - NYT Crossword

This is a clue that’s more specific than I thought. First my tester looked at it sideways (despite the fact that “Yoga positions” didn’t ring any bells for her, she’s pretty flexible); then I looked up the history of its use and it’s heretofore been in Thursdays — Sundays, so it counts as a toughie. The answer is a Sanskrit word, ASANAS. If you ever take a traditional yoga class you’ll pick out “—asana” as the ending for many of the poses you learn, even that last one that’s the culmination of all your efforts, savasana.
