Solution: New York City bridge, informally, with "the" - NYT Crossword

We New Yorkers think we know our bridges, as we are helplessly reliant upon them — and a couple of narrow, dilapidated underwater tubes — to get away from all the other New Yorkers.. Nothing really works here other than the TRIBORO, which is “informally” a reference to, well, the Triborough. Aren’t they pronounced exactly the same? Anyway. I found that fun old picture above and did a little research, and I would much rather talk about the Astoria Pool, which was a W.P.A. project built to host the 1936 Olympic trials, ergo that giant deco diving platform and all those bleachers.
