Right beneath this entry is 34A; “Something that may be hard to drink?” solves to CIDER, which becomes “hard,” or alcoholic, with the addition of fermentation-causing yeast. (Apparently, unpasteurized and unrefrigerated cider can turn boozy all by itself over time.)
